Ready, Set, Design! at NYC UXPA

I attended an event hosted by NYC UXPA last night led by Greg Dilley, a UX Designer and strategist. He split everyone into 5-7 groups to brainstorm and sketch ideas on NYC UXPA website redesign. It’s one of the best events I’ve attended so far – mostly because of its interactive nature that allowed us attendees to exchange our ideas for the project to increase membership and to increase traffic among other things.

My Presentation on the 26th Anniversary of ADA

I gave a presentation, “Why Accessibility is Universal Design: Perspective from a Deaf Professional”, on July 26th – the day that also happened to be the 26th anniversary of ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). I was speaking at an event hosted by NYC UXPA at the Motivate Design office. As usual, I signed in American Sign Language and was voiced by a sign language interpreter and live captions were projected on a separate screen for the audience as part of universal access.
