WordPress and Accessibility

I like using WordPress for its lower learning curve (compared with other open source CMSs like Drupal) and many other features that I can use to create a website – especially as a designer. I attended the camp in NYC twice with the most recent one earlier this summer.

New York Meets Sandy – Before and After

As someone who has lived in the NYC area for many years and gone through events like 9/11 attacks, northeast blackout, NYC transit strike, I have not experienced such a damaging event as the hurricane that happened a week ago. It is the second year in a row that the city was hit by a major hurricane, and this time it caused more damage than last year.

No “Click Here” Links

One of my major pet peeves about websites are “click here” links. They not only make web content long-winded, but also cause issues with user experience, web accessibility, and search engine optimization. The “Click here” links were originally meant to be used with a mouse, but there are people who use keyboards and screen readers who would not benefit from it. They are also not friendly to search engines.
